Hello, I’m Sonya — an Occupational Therapist in Aotearoa New Zealand with two decades of clinical experience and a fierce passion for neuro rehab that works in the real world. I hold a Postgraduate Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy Practice (with Distinction), completed in 2022 through Otago Polytechnic.

I created Advanced Neuro Specialists to bridge the gap between research, clinical reasoning, and the everyday chaos of real practice — with flexible training options designed to fit around real life.

My mission is to give health professionals — just like you — the confidence, clarity, and practical tools to support clients navigating complex neurological conditions.

Whether you’re early in your health professional journey or refining advanced clinical skills, I’m here to walk alongside you. I specialise in Functional Neurological Disorder (FND), neuroplasticity-based interventions, and bringing occupational therapy back to its roots: meaningful, practical, person-centred care.

This isn’t just training — it’s a space for clinicians who love to grow, reflect and bring more humanity into the work we do.

When I’m not talking about neuro rehab, I’m a mum, a partner, an enthusiastic gardener and DIY renovator, and I love caffeine! I believe joy, play, and a little bit of chaos are all part of the healing process — for our clients and for us.
